I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

This movie provides no closure. I don't mean it in the sense where they intentionally keep things open for you to interpret. The movie just collapsed under it's own premise. Stiller's impeccable though.

Little film somewhat comedic. I think they were off with the characters, quite a bit was forced. It was like caricaturing. Not all that bad in itself. I give it a pass. The young is not more cheating than the old, it's a personality trait.

The movie surprised me. I was not expecting the plot to take the turn it does. The acting is good, though I liked Ben Stiller and Adam Driver's performance way more than their feminine counterparts. The strange friendship between these two men and, particularly, the keen depiction of Josh's spiritual "infatuation" for Jamie (a character you won't easily forget) was among the things I liked best. There is something terribly cruel about the entire story, and the film is quite effective at striking more than one sore point. Not a masterpiece, but a clever movie- one the like I would see twice. What I can say is that the ending really did not convince me. I would have liked to see how plot could be developed and made more complex and, to be honest, less banal. After almost two hours of movie, I expect the story to reach a final compromise between the starting point and all the assessments either verified or countered by the events the spectator has witnessed. Instead, the characters have been only partially transformed by their experience: let us say that, if the goal of a story is to bring a character from A to D passing through B and C, it seems to me D is a mere copy of, say, B. On the other hand, the movie tells a lot about acceptance and humility: if regarded under this specific point of view, even a not completely satisfying ending acquires its sense, no matter how bittersweet is the impression the movie leaves you with.

Greetings from Lithuania."While We're Young" (2014) is a good comedy drama that tells the story of how not grow old even if you are the age 44, but it is not a typical coming from age story. The script is smart and fun, at least for 2/3 of the movie. The last third of this movie wasn't as much fun because it was to smart for itself i guess, there were just to much going on and nothing for real. There were some truly funny moments, but this is not a slapstick comedy. Acting was very good by all 4 main characters, and i also loved Matthew Maher's acting. Directing was good, script is smart, but as i said last part of this movie was just to "important" the same way as Ben Stiller character - was all the stuff with last Stiller's speech about documentary movie making necessary?Overall, "While We're Young" tries to touch on many themes and ideas, and although i enjoyed this movie very much overall, it is a bit uneven. Till the middle i kinda saw that i was a bit manipulated of the way how Cornelia and Josh sees life "sterile" and they meet probably younger version of themselves but towards the end a film kinda lost it's way and turned into more serious film about documentaries, freedom of speech and etc. "While We're Young" is a good movie but a bit uneven.
