Casino (1995)
In early-1970s Las Vegas, Sam "Ace" Rothstein gets tapped by his bosses to head the Tangiers Casino. At first, he's a great success in the job, but over the years, problems with his loose-cannon enforcer Nicky Santoro, his ex-hustler wife Ginger, her con-artist ex Lester Diamond and a handful of corrupt politicians put Sam in ever-increasing danger.

A Disappointing Continuation
The acting in this movie is really good.
Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
"Casino" tells the story of Mafia families, trying to enter the nightlife of Las Vegas. While everything is going more than smooth in the beginning, risk is rising when some of the involved develop own interests that could be most dangerous for the legal impression of the project.Some films just manage to instantly convince you that you're watching something special. This is one of them. Although the plot is nothing new or unseen, the storytelling is carried out so skillfully that it is hard not be drawn into the story right away. The film establishes original and exciting characters, even though I have to confess that the love story was the only weakness of the production for me. But the plausibility, the masterful tempo and flow of the film make up for this by far.All in all you shouldn't miss out on this piece that is not only a pleasure for fans of the genre but for anyone interested in movies, since it shows how to master a certain sort of film.
This is the movie that introduced me to Martin Scorsese and I was enthralled into it for 3 hours. I have seen a handful of this movies since then. That said, I have to give it a 8 and not a 10 because it has too much profanity. According to this site's parents guide, there are 422 F word uses. At the time, that was the record holder, than Nil By Mouth broke it 2 years later. There does not need to be that many F words and the record has no need whatsoever to be broken! If profanity of this length bothers you, AMC plays it without the language, but it has an hour of commercials added. Also, Roger Ebert gave it 4/4 stars and called it the 5th best movie of 1995. In short, it is a good movie , but not for those offended to language.
3/13/18. They definitely don't make movies like this anymore. This movie is a testament to how great a director Scorsese is, to keep you enraptured for 3 hours watching how 3 people self-destruct with Las Vegas as the backdrop. Based on the nonfiction book by Pileggi, who also wrote the screenplay (as well as the one for Goodfellas), it is really the history of the old Las Vegas Strip, when mobsters and the Mafia ran the everything. Definitely worth catching!
I need two lives to count the ways I hate this film. Let me just put it in three words: over the top. Everything is over the top. The violence, the screams, the pseudo-pathos (DeNiro's slobbering unrequited puppy love for Stone). Pick anything, it's overdone.IMDB requires 10 lines. Well, here goes:This film is bad.
