It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

I am a huge SAW fan but I have to rate this POS movie with 3 stars - only. This all comes down to insufferable actors, poor direction and below average (but not catastrophic) writing/script. Such a shame! The opening ~ 5 minutes.... together with the last ~ 5 minutes deserve a solid 8, though.

On its own, Saw 3D has pretty good story and holds attention. It's well designed and everything runs smoothly. It would be decent seven. But as part of Saw franchise it's complete failure. Traps are lousy, and Hoffman is lame substitute for John. His killing spree is in contradiction with basic premise of this series. Until the very end I thought I'll rate it two, maybe three out of ten, but in the last scene I changed my mind. Final twist brings this movie back on track, nicely rounding up all seven movies in meaningful whole.7/10

Well what were people expecting going in? To see a fiery filibuster monologue? Mr Smith Goes to Washington? Citizen Kane? (not that I have seen it) Rhett and Scarlett O'Hara? It *is* supposed to be a fast food movie to satisfy your craving. I mean it *is* supposed to have:a solid 'hook' for opening scene (which I really loved) - crazy creative entrapments - ex cathedra speech as tapes and videos are played - social justice, making people pay for their 'crimes' - end sceneIt is a boilerplate movie and supposed to follow the cliché script. I mean even Sherlock has become formulaic as the Season 4 installment began. People expect it to be 'creative' but how much do you think the director and producers should work on it? I don't think they need to overdo it.If you are watching this series in a marathon, you will get bored. So best is to give a buffer time - which I did- and gladly enjoyed it to the last bit.Not every entertaining movie has to be Dostoevsky you know..

Not only is the gore disgusting and completely over the top (and not in a fun way like the Evil Dead series) Its just people being torn apart in the most grotesque disgusting ways simply for the sake of showing it. And when I wasn't disgusted I laughed because it looked so fake several times. And I do not have a problem with violence in movies at all. But there is a line and they just keep crossing it in every sick disgusting Saw sequel they have made. But the worst part is that the gore seems more important than what little actual plot there is in this garbage of a movie. Not that there is much of a plot. And it's so confusing that it makes no sense what so ever. The original Saw movie might have been clever with good acting and a good plot. But typical Hollywood: sequels have to be just about the violence. I can barely remember it after 9 horrible money-grabbing sequels. And good actors have been wasted in the sequels, such as Dina Meyer, Cary Elves, Sean Patrick Flannery and of course Jigsaw himself Tobin Bell.Do not waste a minute of your time on this disgusting display of senseless brutal violence. Not even if you're paid to see it. It's sheer torture to sit through this or any of the 8 other sequels.Personally I'd rather watch paint dry.Only good thing to say is that this really was the final chapter as it has been 6 years since this turd of a movie came out.But Hollywood that has run completely out of ideas and they keep rebooting everything and they will most likely reboot Saw as well at one point. And it will be terrible. Like every other reboot out there.
