Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

Multiple loop running retrospective can be good film, and in Vantage Point it's getting close to being something great, but not quite. Not that a plot where there's a conspiracy to assassinate the US president is very original, and that they could have found somebody else than William Hurt to play him, but the editing and directing and some of the acting here is damn good handwork. It's the story that could have been better worked out.The action scenes are some of the better that I've seen, never boring, and the story also has some creative unexpected turns. Too bad then with the holes in plot and some loose ends. The plan behind the assassination is barely mentioned, no answer to who and why, and it seems that there has been a strong urge to make the action thriller and not being too political. It works some how, though it ends up lacking realism. And calling the TV broadcasting company GNN is just a bit silly. This is after all not meant to be a parody. The media and political terror aspects could have been given more space and some how woven in to the plot, but this was decided to be 1 hour 28 minutes, no more, like some sacred genre code. The result ends up being not as good as the potential, so why the rush? Still, they made a few seconds in the end to remind as that this was inspired by the JFK assassination, though a similar but longer kind of version of that conspiracy could have been much more interesting.

Great cast and an interesting premise make this worth a watch following an assassination attempt on the US president and subsequent bombing in Spain which is then backtracked and shown from 8 different points of view as we try to unlock the truth. I really liked the idea of this movie unfortunately as clever and unique as it was it suffered from undeveloped characters and the viewpoints began to feel repetitive, (which yes I know tell-the-same-story-from-multiple-views is the hook of this movie but they were often identical.) There were a couple of surprising twists along the way as each perspective is fully revealed and I enjoyed Dennis Quaid and Forest Whitaker who for the most part carry the movie. There are some good action scenes, Quaid drives the hell out of a little car in an endless chase through the streets of Spain and Whitaker does a great job despite the fact that I never fully understood the motivation for anything his character is doing or why it was so important for him to film everything going on around him.Lots of cameos from well known actors along the way with all their multiple stories converging by the end and no one finishing up as who they initially appeared to be. Things also began to feel a bit convoluted at this point and the actual ending was sudden and a bit too tidy. 5/29/16

I love Dennis Quaid and Forest Whitaker but this is far from a good movie. They actually look bad because of bad script and even worse directing. Too many repeated scenes without any good reason, boring chasing scenes, everything about this movie is bad. Only thing that is good is cast along above mentioned two actors there nare also Sigourney Weaver and Bruce McGill.. But even that could not make this movie worth watching. Main story is not even resolved and there is no room for sequel (thank God). There is mention of some kind of war but thats it. Side stories are pointless. I wasted my time watching this and i highly recommend that you don't waste your. 2 out of 10 just because respect i have for actors, otherwise pure 0.

Vantage Point is an intelligent thriller. It is a new, unconventional take on the action-thriller genre. The movie is a giant puzzle, you are clueless at first as to what is going on. But as movie proceeds, everything starts making sense. The movie adopted a fresh and unconventional form of story telling. It jumps right into moment of action followed by eight different perspectives. Although, it may not cater to tastes of some people. The story of the movie revolves around President of U.S. But center of the plot is a guilt ridden secret service man (he took a bullet for the President) who wants redemption for some reason, even though he's a hero. For me the most interesting part of the movie was the way different stories with same start and end points get woven into each other with each story. The director of the movie Pete Travis has put in some hard work and given an extraordinary piece of art.
