The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
If you're an action fan and just want to see some brainless wreckage, watch this movie, however if you want to see an action movie with any form of a plot or decent craftsmanship, don't. The unsolved mystery is why Mikael Håfström directed Escape Plan despite hes "area of expertise" being horror. The other interesting thing is how "Plan B" is mentioned throughout the movie but producers failed to come up with one. I respect how Stallone tried bringing Escape Plan's 80's style to next gen, but it was a failure because of its predictable and over used clichés and set-ups. Add insult to injury the whole cast felt lifeless, especially Stallone who kept mumbling a lot of his already below standard dialogueFor what it is, it wasn't worth the almost two hour running time just to get Stallone and Schwarzenegger together. Final Rating: 3/10
On the lines of Shawshank Redemption but very well executed. The screenplay could've been still better with more twists & turns.
Americans are most tastelest people in the world. the is good
Yes I know movies are fantasy, and some things must be taken with a grain of salt. BUT, they should be believable anyway. This wasn't, and here's why: I liked the movie right up to the time Ray sticks his head out of the hatch and discovers he's aboard ship. That was the end of it for me. Why? I spent years in the Merchant Marine, and I'm here to tell you, all the Stabilizers in the world will NOT prevent motion on a ship. Maybe in calm waters, but when the sea picks up, motion is always felt. So there's no way all those guys would thing they were on land. That being the case, the movie ended at that point.
