The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

First of all, I love a lot of the things Peter Jackson has done, The Frighteners being a particular favorite (although I have to say that I absolutely loved Braindead too when I watched it during its original cinema release). I don't want to come off as a simple hater. Yesterday I rewatched this movie for the first time since I saw it in a cinema during its original release. This time I watched the extended edition on blu-ray but my perception is still the same, although I was a bit more generous in my first review.I still think there's a pretty good 100-120 minute movie hiding somewhere in there, but both the theatrical and (especially) extended editions are far too long. The pacing is glacial and, in spite of all the crazy action taking place on screen, the movie is boring. It's amazing that a movie which throws so much action in your face is capable of coming off as slow.It takes 1 hour and 10 minutes before we first get a glimpse of Kong. And not until the 2,5 hour mark is the great ape captured. Two and a half hours! The movie clocks in at 3+ hours regardless of which version you watch, and that is at least one hour too long.I understand that Peter Jackson loves the original King Kong and wants to include as many references to the original as possible, like the slug pit, the log fight and the dinosaur battle. But it gets exhausting and does nothing to propel the story forward towards its inevitable end (which we all know) or deepen our relationship to the characters. Writing this now I can see that King Kong was a little taste of what was to come with the maddeningly awful Hobbit trilogy. As for the look of the film it's remarkable that it looks (dare I say it?) pretty bad. I guess they were too reliant on miniature or CG environments into which our actors were composited. Barely a single shot seems to have been done in an actual location. I fully understand that they would have to do that for 1930's New York. But the jungle? Everything in this movie comes off as artificial. Sorry Peter, but this wasn't my movie.

King Kong (2005) is an epic adventure action film released in 2005, and directed by Peter Jackson the film is a remake of the 1933 King Kong film. It tells of a young woman named Ann Darrow who loved work as an actress, but an economic crisis in 1933 a number of theaters went bankrupt, until he finally met a very ambitious director named Carl Denham. Carl invites Ann to play in his film that shoots on the mysterious island called the skull island, when Ann, Carl, and Jack Denham as well as the crew of the ship carrying Ann and Carl are attacked by indigenous tribes, Ann is kidnapped to be offered to the king on that island, the king said a giant gorilla, Jack Denham forced the ship's crew to explore the island, it turned out to be an island inhabited by prehistoric creatures ready to kill them at any time, King Kong did not eat Ann, he instead protected Ann from the The wild animal in the island, Ann began to understand the feeling of the gorilla.. Can Jack and Carl manage to save Ann ??? This film is very good, charming acting, visual effects that spoil the eyes

I've seen this film probably half a dozen times by now, and I rarely watch any film more than once. It's spectacular. The Prehistoric creatures are beautifully designed and frightening as all hell, and the scenery and landscaping is beautiful. It's a wonderful action filled suspenseful monster movie, adventure and peril, and it really does justice to the various other film adaptations. I could watch it again and again! Some of the creatures in the prehistoric realm are of course just fantasy, but even still, coming from a factual stick in the mud like me, it's a really great touch to the overall atmosphere of the movie. I absolutely love it.
