Absolutely Brilliant!
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
In the fourth installment of the fighting franchise, Boyka is shooting for the big leagues when an accidental death in the ring makes him question everything he stands for.For being the fourth film in a series, this is actually a rather good movie. Perhaps it might be dismissed as just a fight movie, particularly one from Bulgaria of all places (who knew they even made films there?). But there is not only some great martial arts, but actually a rather interesting plot. This is really a story about redemption, sacrifice and penance. Now, it could be seen as contrived, but it never really came across in that way for me. Certainly an interesting character in a unique situation.
The plot is as predictable as it gets. It's one of those movies that Russians speak English to each other and the acting is mostly atrocious, but it's not trying to win any awards either. Scott Adkins is the best actor in the movie, so know what you're getting into. If you plan to watch it for anything but the fights, which are good but not as memorable as previous ones in the franchise, you will be disappointed.
I recommend it for everyone who likes action and martial art movies.-- Pros: 1.Great fight choreograph from Tim Man.2.Spectacular martial art / stunt performances. 3.Fast paced without any boring moment.-- Cons: 1.Weak story.2.Too short... feels a bit rushed, I was expecting for more. 3.Weak character images. (In Undisputed 3, characters have strong and unique images, even the support roles such as Turbo and Gaga are well developed.)-- Conclusion: Undisputed 3 is a lot better in EVERY WAY, but this one is still entertaining and worth watching.
And finally Scott Adkins is back in the ring. What do you expect from this kind of movies? pure fight and this movie give you that in a good way. nice fights not as strong as vol 2 and 1 but good enough. The whole series are fine and watch all of them if you not. In this one story is a bit messy and weak but does not matter, we are not seeking philosophy in such movie. The only funny thing in this movie is the English accent of actors and actress. if this is supposed to be in Russia so speak Russian, if you want to make Hollywood movie then speak English. it is funny whole thing happen in Russia in small town and every time Russians speak to each other in English with Russian accent :| anyway enjoy the movie
