Colette (2018)
After marrying a successful Parisian writer known commonly as Willy, Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette is transplanted from her childhood home in rural France to the intellectual and artistic splendor of Paris. Soon after, Willy convinces Colette to ghostwrite for him. She pens a semi-autobiographical novel about a witty and brazen country girl named Claudine, sparking a bestseller and a cultural sensation. After its success, Colette and Willy become the talk of Paris and their adventures inspire additional Claudine novels.

Thanks for the memories!
It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
There aren't many movies that will be so compelling to me that I don't think about the time going by or go to the bathroom or find myself distracted by other things. From the opening scene through to the end credits, Colette was that rare filmgoing experience where I felt every shot, every frame, every moment was essential and compelling. The performances are amazing and this story is absolutely riveting. I can't wait to see it again.
What a beautiful, heartfelt film. From the stunning cinematography to the wonderful acting and amazing direction, this film is a must for all those who are sick and tired of the same old storylines being rehashed, or comic book heroes being brought to life. I was lucky enough to see it at a private screening, and I walked out crying! Highly recommended.
