Ghost Stories (2018)
Professor Phillip Goodman devotes his life to exposing phony psychics and fraudulent supernatural shenanigans. His skepticism soon gets put to the test when he receives news of three chilling and inexplicable cases -- disturbing visions in an abandoned asylum, a car accident deep in the woods and the spirit of an unborn child. Even scarier -- each of the macabre stories seems to have a sinister connection to the professor's own life.

Good movie but grossly overrated

Greetings from Lithuania."Ghost Stories" (2017) felt very flat the more it moved to the end. While this isn't a bad movie by any means, any chances on calling this not bad horror movie vanished the more this movie moved to the ending which was just sill and pretentious and total nonsense. There were some spooky moments in this movie here and there, but like i said, the ending was just nonsense giving the overall experience a very disappointing taste. Overall, "Ghost Stories" (2017) is just a very meeehhh... horror flick. Its not particularly scary but its nicely paced, but the ending just felt flat. A disappointing movie overall.
I thought this was just going to be a conventional horror story, and for most of the film, it was, but the third act gets WEIRD. It had a real Tom Stoppard's feel to it and reminded me especially of "The Real Inspector Hound." Totally worth watching, just for the, 'wait, what did i just watch!?' of it
Effectively spooky. Really has that old-time English ghost story quality to it. The film relies on atmosphere and uneasiness. Some great visuals and use of pre-existing landscapes. It excels at making you uncomfortable about what is hiding in the dark. Although, I do think the segments end a bit abruptly.Really well thought out wrap-around story. Perhaps not the most original ending, but it is done really well.Excellent cast all-around, but the MVP is Alex Lawther as a kid who has been scared out of his mind. He does an excellent job showing off his nervousness.
British horror 'Ghost stories' was a genuine surprise to see, not a massive horror fan personally those elements of the film grabbed me being extremely tense and unexpected often hard to watch we follow a denouncer of the abnormal on an investigation three seemingly exceptional cases of hauntings and creatures told convincingly by the supporting cast who's ordeals are extremely detailed. As the plot progresses and actions unfold and consequences are revealed the final twist truly came from nowhere and upon reflection is extremely well crafted. A fantastic debut feature
