This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The acting in this movie is really good.

All the recipes are here. a dumb couple on a travel A naive girl that never listens to anything and gets everyone killed. typical first grade theathrical people that can't act like a scary ghosts so they move like bellydancers and gestulate with their hands like the worst emo techno videos on youtube. incredibly laughable and cringeworthy. The opening scene sets the tone with maybe the most ridicilous scene they could have come up with. a girl is running through crowded 'marketplace streets and in the next she's runs in an dark alleyway?! That's not very clever if youre hunted by bellydancer ghosts. The bellydancer ghosts stops her hand in the victims mouth?? after some cheesy gesticulations. you know.. look at my makeup hand! it took 2 hours to make my nails for halloween. This Is just another movie that joins all the rest of the dungheap. That taylor compton "Halloween girl seem to take wichever crap script there Is. Can you imagine this girl once played alongside kristen stewart. Why is these kind of movies even labeled horror?? they should just be labeled actors who act out like nurses in silent hill and believe that's scary. What a F junk!!

All this movie is is a series of stolen scenes and ideas from other movies in between cliches, tropes and bad acting. I'm VERY easily scared and i honestly didn't get scared once while watching this alone. WHAT i did get was very frustrated at how annoying the main characters were, how they agreed to go a weird private country night trip with some weird obviously sketchy guys they met at a bar. ALSO WHOMEVER PLAYS THE HUSBAND I NEVER EVER WANNA SEE AGAIN

While the subject of Thai spirit houses makes for an interesting story line, that is the only positive thing I have to say about this movie. The creative team appears to have done their job - the camera shots provide a lot of visual interest and seem to have been well planned, the dialogue itself isn't bad - the actors are simply failing to make the script convincing.It's difficult to find a likable character - Julie is childish and insipid and Jim is condescending and abrasive. All of the actors seem to be playing a separate game of "who can be the most stereotypical?".The director threw in some sex scenes that do nothing to further the plot, they are just *there*. It also glosses over the human trafficking crisis in southeast Asia with a flashy visit to the red light district - which again, it doesn't do much to further the plot, just adds another element to make the characters even more unlikable.Altogether it's a sad repeat of more of the same - a horror film with a promising premise but is dragged down by the actors and by thinking that a little T&A will make the viewers ignore the trainwreck happening on screen.4/10 stars - Plus points for some beautiful camera shots and an interesting antagonist, minus points for bad acting.Movie SuperlativesMost Unbelievable - When Julie makes out with Jim mere hours after he's locked lips with a sex worker. I don't care how close to death you just were, you'd better wash him with a strong disinfectant first.Most Realistic - Brit guy v. American guy slapfight.

Ghost House 2017... it's a cool story, but the acting is so bad... except for Scout Taylor-Compton. Two amazingly bad things that happen... like in the new Leatherface movie when the girl gets her leg caught in a bear trap and doesn't even scream out or act in pain in subsequent scenes, in this movie a guy checks his watch before answering a very specific time- related question, but the actor forgot his watch in that scene... or when the girl catches on FIRE for like 3 seconds before it vanishes and she falls over... and her boyfriend just looks at her as if waiting for the effect, then turns to his co- stars on queues how to react to an effect they cannot see, but he still does not react.... so bizarre, such bad acting... That being said... I do enjoy the story, and the lead characters do have chemistry, which does make up somewhat for the lead male's poor acting, which I imagine they took into account when making the film.The movie is rated sub 5/10 on IMDb and I think it does deserve a better score, like a 7.5, because it is a good story, the pacing works, the music is fantastic, and I love a horror film that takes place in Thailand, Thai and South Korea horror specifically I find to be very underrated.
