In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

seriously, why cant we get a decent scary movie made ever?Even the promotional poster is a rip off of The Blair Witch...sheesh.I've heard of the severed feet appearances in Canada, and this silly stupid movie simply exploits it for all(not much) its worth. As usual, the worst movie makers are the first to tell the story in their own unintelligent way. It shouldn't take a lot of money to make a good movie just good actors and a good script writer I guess they are impossible to come by anymore.I cant think of anything else to say about this typical garbage sorry excuse for a movie.I have to write ten lines but thats ridiculous and unfair.Ten words are enough for this "movie"

It's a pretty cool back story and the legend is a real legend. Any movie with a a killer who wields an ax a classicly terrifying image. Def some Blair Witchy goings on with shaking tent. It was terrifying in B.W. ... It's been ripped off because it works. However, all of these things were insignificant bits of nothingness compared to the disturbing, pathetic, delusional behavior of the main guy. This whole thing was dreamed up, cultivated and executed for one purpose.... To have time and ultimately have sex with one or both of the hottest girls in college. I suspect it would be his first time with sexy because he's so creepy and inappropriate nearly the whole movie. It was amusing at first but as the movie progressed it got to be frustrating. His advances are repeatly rebuffed but yet he has the illusion of grandeur to nsanely say with a straight face .... They are here for me and I'm not with them now but I will be after this.... It's almost changed from horror to a comedy. What I took away most is its clear he doesn't own a mirror or have a friend....

I'm not usually one to watch found footage movies, but "Severed Footage" has definitely changed my mind on them. The plausibility of the story is amazing; when I got home from watching it the first time, I searched all the issues that came up and not one of them was fictional. That, for me, is the key to why the film is really entertaining. The only other film of this type that I've seen is the first "Paranormal Activity" and "Severed Footage" was just as good, if not better. The beginning of the story (before they get to Newcastle Island) has a comic element which I just didn't get in "Paranormal", and the premise of the story was much more believable for me. All in all, I would most definitely recommend this film and it is probably the best Indie film I've seen in a long time.

"Severed Footage" was enjoyable to watch for lots of reasons. I enjoyed the storyline development (it wasn't just in your face gore or non stop violence) , the character development was fun to watch, and the composition of the movie itself led up to the surprising climax of the film, with subtle humour and great drama. The beauty of that part of the world just shines so naturally in this film. I especially liked the tie-in to the infamous history and unsavoury characters let loose on Newcastle Island in the recent past, as well as the yet unsolved mystery that is current news of 12 severed feet washing up the area beaches, but maybe this leaked footage exposes that mystery. None of this great drama has ever been told in film that I'm aware of. Three cheers for a job well done!!!
