It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

This is a movie that I would say was VERY Well done. I am a Christian adult who is very interested in films that deal with Satanism, Occult, as well, as serial killers. Nightstalker deals with all three of those. As usual, the skepticism of people is what makes this movie feel so good, because as long as you expect it to be something that is terrible, you might like it. I know I did.Nightstalker was a film that was VERY messed up. Even more so than Fight Club, Donnie Darko and so forth. The beginning of the movie starts out with as someone put "Crack Montages over Speed Metal", Okay, ya, they were crack montages, but it wasn't over speed metal, it was over Grindcore/Brutal Death Metal. With the montages, this movie makes you feel kind of scared/creeped out.In a way, you could say that this is a lot like Summer Of Sam, because it revolves around a person(s) while the media talks about the killings going around. I do recommend this movie to all those who are interested in these kind of movies, BUT I WARN YOU, DO NOT EXPECT A LOT OUT OF IT AND YOU'LL LIKE IT!!!!

Well, this movie was, quite frankly, on crack. It was really jumpy (kind of like an even more drugged-out Requiem for a Dream - which says a lot.) This worked in some places, particularly when the NightStalker was, in fact, doing drugs. However, the part that has him walking up the stairs a good half-dozen times was too much. This movie in no way told the story of Richard Ramirez (or Robert Ramirez, as the summary on this website says.) The most glaring problem? Ramirez is currently awaiting execution on California's death row, for goodness sakes! I heart Danny Trejo, so that was probably this films saving grace. Even so, all I can say is: I watched it once. I would not be opposed to watching it again, but believe me, I will not be the one saying, "Hey, you know what would be GREAT to watch right now?! Nightstalker!"

This film , I had never heard of this film until just last night actually - when a friend gave it to me to watch...I didn't even read the description of it , so I had absolutely NO IDEA what I was to expect with it. All I looked at on the video case itself was the front cover and the movies' title....So , I pretty much was figuring that this was a HORROR film and I was also assuming this would not be a good contributor to that genre... Well , as it turns out , after watching , Oh - I'd say about the first 10 minutes of the film , which is actually the beginning of the film with the credits still rolling in , I did realize that this film was about Richard Ramirez , who was the night stalker /killer in various brutal and satanic murders. The only reason I clued in on that was because I was prior familiar with the dirtbag in general. I had seen a A&E TV special about his trial and how some fruitloop of a women had married him in prison while awaiting his death sentence for the crimes he had committed. I found this movie , well - not too disturbing - although I will not say it is not. The guy was a major drug fiend and obviously had HUGE mental issues. Basically blaming his crimes on Satan , "Satan made me do it" - type stuff. What a FREAK! And this film sure does a GREAT job at showing it's viewer just THAT. I didn't LOVE this film , but I will give it a big credit. Well done. Also , one last thing - this is not a horror film , this is a documentation film....Yep , yep , yepAnd with all of that , I'm out... PEACE

well I had hoped for more from this movie..I see this movie was highly rated by both Fangoria and sundance..I'm not sure why.The story is based loosely on the true story of Richard Ramirez.Basically this guy smokes crack and we see through some kind of neat effects that he is tormented and a possible schizophrenic,as he goes around killing people and raping. It is not very graphic, and has a lot of logic flaws and underdeveloped characters. The "crack head effect" is cool but overused.I thought the ending was its weakest moment and the start its best.Thhis could have been a lot more.Just worth watching.
