Sorry, this movie sucks
Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
Wavy Gravy is a man for all time. He's been a hero for fifty years, committing himself fully to social projects and to politics and to social change. The guy is just a moral inspiration, and he's funny and smart as well. The film suits his style as well I think. It is random and funny and uncompromising. At the same time is very carefully made, definitely a tribute to an amazing character. It's time that everyone knew that Wavy Gravy is more than just an awesome ice cream flavour! It also gives a great retrospective on the 60s counterculture; Wavy Gravy is a man who embodied the movement, and even the staunchest republican must respect his commitment and his values.
