Memorable, crazy movie
It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
"The Portal" is a 2-year-old 11-minute live action short film written and directed by Jonathan Williams that was successful enough to be turned into a mini-series little later. I myself cannot really see the hype though. The story is nothing new though. A wizard arrives in today's world through a portal and, of course, quickly falls in love with a common business woman. The rest is a mix of comedy, fantasy and romance, but none of these 3 areas seemed very convincing at all. I also did not like the ending. Such a gigantic change in terms of story and this was simply not elaborated on well enough in my opinion. Pretty surprised this has such a high rating. I don't recommend the watch.
