Absolutely the worst movie.
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Vidhu Vinod chopra returned to his troubled homeland to shoot this tense action thriller, which turned out to be an international blockbuster, ranking among the top 50 rentals in the US and dubbed into most major languages around the world. Mission Kashmir deals with a policeman father and his militant son, pitted against each other, making personal the political tragedy that is Kashmir. Its use of cutting-edge cinematic techniques and state-of-the-art sound direction marked the arrival of Vinod as a fully international-caliber feature film director. This is the best Indian movie on terrorism in decades...the IMDb employee don't understand the power of this cinematic masterpiece,that is why so less points for this movie,it should be easily more than 8.0......I am amazed that a total cheesy movie like Khakee has 7.4 in IMDb but not Mission Kashmir.
It looked like a musical mission impossible 2. Acting was awful and the story looked like it was writen by Barbara Cartland. Fighting scenes were absolutely junk and were always intrerrupted by singing. I've seen a lot of bad movies but this one is defintely in the top ten.
Too many cliches. Prejudiced view of the Kashmir situation. Needless songs and unnecessary overacting at times by all lead characters (though this seems to be the norm!). On the bright side, great visuals, good music and a competent directing job. 5.5 out of 10
I felt that this movie might be something good judging by the previews I had seen of the movie. I felt that the story was ok, nothing too great. The thing that bothered me the most was the one Sikh in the movie was shown to be someone who didn't know what he was doing and was shown as a coward. Reality is that Sikhs are known for their courage and strength. History proves this. I was disgusted by the first scene of this film where the Sikh is called names and has to be saved. This is not truthful. Sikhs throughout history have been the ones saving others. I felt that this film along with every other hindi film mocked Sikhs.Movies worth watching are Maachis, and an old classic, Sholay.
