Thanks for the memories!
The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
I cannot understand people who bash this movie. They say "the men acted stupid". Well, you could write a movie where she flies to South America and completely disappears, but where's the movie in that? She has to give just enough clues that you think she is going to be caught, and then she wriggles out. That's why we go to movies, to see people escape imminent danger. This movie perfectly balances the tension with humor. It makes perfect sense Peter Berg falls in love with Wendy - he's bored in his little town and knows all the other girls. Very satisfying that a movie let's the bad guy get away with things for once, rather than the old Production Code rules that forced crime to be always punished at the end,
Not among the top list. But, the movie is really a worth watch. There are so many films about deadly and dangerous women. This one is one among them.Bridget Gregory has an amazing talent to write backwards. She makes her husband to do drug deal, steals the money and run away. She finds a job in another town under a fake name. She meets a young man, who gives her regular company.A well made movie. Definitely worth watch. If you are a fan of Gone Girl, this movie is also a must watch.#KiduMovie
So clever. Linda Fiorentino is a fabulously evil Lauren Bacall type in this amazing stylish thriller. If I'm not watching a comedy, this is exactly what I want. The story twists make sense and before the final knife plunge (metaphoric, not a spoiler) I felt like I was right in it. The chemistry between the leads is unbelievable. Peter Berg can meet me i a dark alley anytime. This movie is a total classic and belongs up there with film noir crime dramas like The Maltese Falcon, This Gun For Hire, Double Indemnity, The Big Sleep, Key Largo, etc. The dialogue is razor sharp, the leads are fantastic, the story makes sense and if you're a fan of 1940s crime films, I think you will love it.
I probably missed this one as many people did because of the way it was released, first on television and then in the theaters. I wanted to check it out because I'm a fan of Linda Fiorentino from Vision Quest. I was pleasantly surprised how captivating this movie was from the beginning. Intrigue quickly became fascination for me with the characters and the mind play between her and her two male supporting actors. I think you'll find this movie entertaining even if you're taken back by the sex and deceitfulness of the main character. Critics have said Linda's performance was worthy of an Academy Award and I agree wholeheartedly. She does a fantastic job!
