It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.

This film really did surprise me. I was a fan of the first movie for a while but it left me feeling underwhelmed. I was expecting a bit more for the first film in the series to be made. But this was the fun action adventure film I was waiting for! To start off, the villains of the film are great! Adagio Dazzle (Voice by Kazumi Evans is a great main villain and a very hypnotic presence, Aria Blaze (Voiced by Diana Kaarina) is a very moody and downbeat, yet still likable and fun character. Sonata Dusk (Voiced by the legendary Maryke Hendrikse) is a tonne of fun to watch! She gets great lines and the dizty-ness is just too cute! Sunset Shimmer is given much more of a character and an arc in this one and is sooooo likable! The songs are great! It's just a great film! Watch it and you won't be disappointed.

This movie is awesome and do you know why it's awesome, I'll tell you. 1)Plot: The story is about a group called The Dazzlings, who uses their magic to feed on the hatred of the people around them, One day they went to Canterlot High and turns the school's scheduled musical showcase with a Battle of the Bands competition, so the rest of the Humane 6 and Sunset Shimmer needs the help of Twilight Sparkle, she gets the message, makes a portal and goes to the Human world, during her time there, she needs to make a counter spell, so that they can beat the Dazzlings, stuff happens and they win! 2)Characters: The characters in this movie is are more entertaining and memorable than Equestria Girls, especially the story arc for former antagonist Sunset Shimmer, she is currently my favourite character in Human Equestria, with Sonata Dusk at a close second. 3)Songs: If you guys already forgotten, this movie has a lot more songs than in Equestria Girls, but the song that shocked all of us was that this movie has the only time when Rainbow Dash has her own song, that song is "Awesome as I wanna be", other songs include"Rainbow Rocks", "Battle of the Bands" and "Shake your tail". This movie is so awesome, you could forget the flaws and that the concept of the Humane 6 being in a band and have to battle other bands is kind of unoriginal, but it's still a good 73 minutes.

When I heard about this sequel being made, I was looking forward to a movie that learns from the first movie's mistakes and fixes them. And I was not disappointing. It improves over the first in every way, and manages to be entertaining and engaging throughout the run-time. The villains are more interesting and threatening, sunset shimmer actually gets some development, the references feel less forced and very funny, and there is very little of flash sentry. I was hoping he would either get a character in this or have minimal screen-time, but I guess the latter is fine. The animation is much better, and feels like it is on par with season 4, and the artists also paid much more attention to detail in the character designs. The story is also much better. The three sirens want to harness the magic of the entire school to take over the world, But they need to sing in order to do it, and the rainbooms (The humane 6) call on twilight from equestria to perform a counter spell to stop them. The villains, Adagio dazzle and her two cronies (aria blaze and sonata dusk, the latter of which makes me laugh every second shes on screen), are very effective villains in being able to manipulate other characters to do their dirty work, all thanks to their hypnotic music. Speaking of which, the pacing is also much better, whereas the original had a very rushed climax (IMO) and very slow first act. This movie feels very natural, and the music helps the story in better ways to move the plot along. The music has to be the highlight of this movie. every song is absolutely amazing, and Daniel Ingram has really outdone himself here. While the first movie had two catchy songs out of I believe 6, every song here was terrific, as are the incidental tracks,And are all played with very memorable and creative visuals. All in all, I loved this movie and am totally hyped for Equestria girls 3!

After seeing Equestria Girls I had no desire to see another humanized ponies movie. But the teasers actually made me curious. Because there is actually more a theme present in this movie. The theme, music, is very well up to MLP; FiM standards as we know this song for having music that is better than most series. The music is a bit different from the series in exploring more pop genres. Aaaand, we now have a set of villains that are way more interesting than we had in Equestria Girls. The villains actually have separate characters and a history that old school bronies will find interesting. The story was also more interesting and riddled with Easter eggs. The end battle runs circles around the end battle of the former movie. Finally no simple deus ex machina. Do not see this movie expecting the level of the series, because of course these characters and story telling and cartoon style still works way better with ponies than with these doll like humans. Expecting ponies will be quite disappointing. They should have used ponies, they didn't. Tough break. But for simply a color full animation for the whole family it is a fine movie. Watch out for the risk of having the songs stuck in your head after wards. They're quite catchy.
