It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

The movie, Broadcast News was not as good as I expected. I enjoyed some parts of it but others were boring. Overall it me entertained and watching the whole time. The actors and actresses were pretty good and had many funny lines here and there. The plot of the movie was funny and informational. There is not much I would change about that. The film contained great journalistic value too. One concern I have was the ending. I definitely thought the ending should have been a lot better. It just left us all hanging. My whole class was very upset about it. We watched the whole film, which was 2 hours or so, for a not so good ending!!! I want to know what happens with the rest of their lives.

Very entertaining movie with some great journalism value! It keeps viewers interested with love interests and drama, while accurately representing what it is like to be a broadcast journalist by showing how much work goes into it and how stressful it is, but also shows how much the people doing it love it. It also brings attention to whether or not broadcast news should be purely news or a source of entertainment. This is a debate that journalists everywhere struggle with because if your news isn't entertaining, people most likely won't read it. On the other hand, if it is purely entertainment it might not be news. It also shows how important it is to have credibility as a reporter and for all of the news to be accurate and not tampered with (when Tom fakes the tear and Jane catches him in the end).

Full of journalistic humor and complicated love lives, this movie will satisfy anyone who likes watching individuals stress over their everyday lives. The pressure of deadlines, tension between friends and an ominous job-layoff threat looming overhead keeps viewers enticed to see what happens next. Upon looking for a film with a happy ending, this movie may not meet the requirements. It ends rather abruptly, leaving viewers still to wonder what will happen next. However, the film does feature many realistic events from the world of journalism. Viewers will smile and laugh along to the movie as characters casually bury the lead.

Broadcast News is an inside look on the busy lives of media broadcasters. This fast paced comedy shows what life is like working at a big television network. The romantic element between Jane Craig, Aaron Altman, and Tom Grunick adds drama to this comedy. Jain Craig is one of the best in the business. This hard working journalist always wants the best quality for her stories. One of her best friends, Aaron Altman, works alongside her at the studio. Although he is a good journalist, he is never promoted to be an anchorman because he does not have the appearance the audience likes. Unlike Aaron, pretty boy Tom Grunick is quickly promoted to be an anchorman because of his good looks but doesn't have the same passion as Aaron and Jane do for journalism. A funny story line, quality acting, and a fabulous 80s wardrobe make this movie a must see.
