This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Clooney's involvement behind the scenes and its naïveté is perhaps why this film bombed, with script and story changes and an inexperienced director this film lacks the charm that the Coen's would've bought with them and instead of feeling like a fantastically crafted World it's more of an attempt of a student. An all star cast and genuinely intriguing plot there's much that could've been. Not absolutely awful but not what could've been
Misguided waste of talent. Terrible. Can't believe Matt Damon would waste his time in such a hollow role. Just a cliched stereotype of the late 50's. No redeeming quality.
If you have time to see any movie... choose another one. Absolutely meaningless movie. Only two thing was good in this movie i like 50's USA feeling, and some actor's play was very good.... but thats all.. Forgettable...
So let's unpack this satire; -greed, check -racism, check -narsicism, check -capitalism, check -lust, check -hate, check -naivity, check -simplicity, check -apathy, check -disavowal, check -irony, check -stupidity, check -whatever the hell bury your head in the sand and pretend it never happened is, checkMaybe this is the 7 deadly sins enhanced edition a 50's setting.I think they were trying to tick all the boxes and show that things never change, look it is the same right now today, maybe it will never change, the end.Seeing it once is enough but if you want to see it again just watch the news or read if that is still a thing.
