It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

And our little hero even looks like Daphne. And what does she do? Solve mysteries. As Nancy. And it seems it is very good, making police job in her hometown. Is a girl with a high IQ, incredibly smart, a little genius. She moves with her father in another city. Staying in a house where lived an old actress who was missing for then to be found dead and the cause is still not known. Then she goes to school where it is not seen very well, her classmates make fun of her because of old-fashioned clothes that she wears. Nancy can not help but find out what happened to Delhi and from some old movies slowly finds all sorts of clues that help find out who is the killer. Surprising was the appearance of Bruce Willis, even if only for 30 seconds and I liked when she got introduced to Nancy used his real name. The film has some flaws. Shows us how she went to school but just one day? Then he went not. I do not think it says how old is our detective so can drive a car and parade through traffic. I can not say I liked this movie but i didn't hate it either. It is to see if you want to remember the childhood, if you want to get into the minds of children. But honestly better I looked at "Bolt".

this movie was so childish.watch the old 1940's nancy drew movies, they are much much much better.the girl in the movie looks and acts like she's 13. nothing she does is believable.they took a series of good mystery books and turned it into a movie for 10 year olds who probably never even read her books.this movie was a insult to the nancy drew series.they need to make nancy like 19-21, and have more serious stuff.watch it if its free, and nothing else on.i rate it a 3 on a stink-a-roo meter

This is a cute, Nickelodeon-type version of Nancy Drew, but it suffers a bit from a confused tone. It seems to me that the filmmakers couldn't decide if they wanted to celebrate or ridicule Nancy's abilities. Sometimes the movie seems like a semi-parody like "The Brady Bunch Movie," where the comedy came from the way the super goody-good fictional characters interacted with the "real" world around them (which is especially confusing, since Nancy Drew stories are usually mysteries, not out and out comedies). Other times it seems like a Disney Channel TV show. Other times it seems like real Nancy Drew (though it would benefit from more mysteriousness). On the positive side, the movie is very kid and teen friendly and Emma Roberts, the young star, is very appealing. She has that kind of likably precocious energy that Bonita Granville had in the original movies of the 30s and 40s. But it has been almost three years since this movie came out, and the sequel is set to come out in 2011. They really should have cranked out at least one a year in order to take advantage of her youth before they have to have a college age Nancy, even if they had to go the direct to DVD route. Perhaps they should have gone the TV-series route.
