Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

Maybe it's wrong to write a review of a production that I didn't watch all the way through, but the reasons why maybe helpful to others. Romantic comedies can be enjoyable, often bouncing with a reverse-moral story which serves to grant some insight from a different perspective. This didn't show any hope of that happening. The salvo of utter nonsense and over the top foul language prevents anyone beyond a juvenile mentality from watching this movie. To be honest, I don't enjoy Chris Rock or his humour. However I think Gina Torres has been terrific in everything I've seen her in. I also recently watched The Last King of Scotland, where Kerry Washington has a supporting role that was very impressive. I wanted to give this one a chance, but it proved pointless. I've been married happily over 30yrs and this plot should be excluded from anyone wanting to manage their thought processes at any level.I've struggled through poor movies to see what can be gleaned from them, but this one isn't worth anyone's time.

This film was unfairly panned in my opinion, probably because most people were expecting a comedy. However, 'I Think I Love My Wife' is an effective drama based on Eric Rohmer's 'Chloe in the Afternoon'. Chris Rock successfully sheds his comic persona to play a suburban middle class executive who finds himself straying from his dull married life. Despite occasional missteps, the film uncannily captures a common male viewpoint and feels close to reality. It works as a gentle cautionary drama with some comic asides. Some of the humor is crass and the conclusion feels rushed. Still watchable.Overall 7/10

I have to admit that this film was better than the 7 Year Itch. It tells the story of a guy who is bored with his marriage and begins seeing a woman, a girl he knew from his high school years. Though nothing happens between them, his meetings with her, especially when she comes up to the office, begins to affect his work and his marriage.I found this film insulting to black people when Kerry Washington (the girl he rediscovers) will ask him if he is married, has children or children out of wedlock. She refers to marriage with children as that white thing. Am shocked that black people don't find this offensive.Naturally, he follows her to Washington in a near mad cap escapade and is almost ready for a sexual tryst with her, when common sense and decency prevails. Is this the true caliber of sexual mores and trysts in our society? Methinks not.

By far Rocks best film, he plays a married man who's become increasingly bored with married life and struggles not to cheat on his wife with an extremely beautiful old friend. This film wasn't boring, it had its comedic moments and what man wouldn't want to watch Kerry Washington, who played Nikki, for at least an hour.I am definitely not a fan of Chris Rock movies, but this one was a mature display and co inked by long time friend and Lucky Louie star Louis C.K.Along with Steve Buschemi to throw in some lines, the movie can be tolerated, is entertaining and not as bad as you would think..If you don't have anything to do, and have an hour or so to burn, then I think you should give it a chance. It's not comedic genius, its just a movie, not every single film should be a runner up for an academy, this one qualifies as an entertaining ride into Chris Rocks mind...
