Highway (2002)

A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

is a nice movie, very funny at first, but very intense at the end. Jack G. and Jared Leto made a great job in this film, but i really think that Selma Blair was more like an accessory in this movie.I thought that it was a very predictable movie, but it turns up that it wasn't. I laugh with Jack and Jillie, i felt bad for the alligator boy and it was hard when Pilot finally met that girl from the prom and she is so stone, that she couldn't even remember him and my feeds felt bad for jack when the Miranda's guys caught him.AH! and don't forget to JOnhy the fox, this liberal man who just want to be in the tribute to Curt, crossing in the way of this to friends.Is another film where Jared Leto shows how talented he is, the same thing with Jack G. it really worth to see it, every minute is like gold. i have seeing it like 15th times now and every time i laugh more, and i feel bad for those guys.

You know this movie had a great potential, could have been a major film for all the characters involved. But somewhere along it fails major. Doesn't really make you 'feel' for any character, they all seem like cardboard characters. Should have breathed life into them. Instead it just manages to take you 'around' aimlessly. It fails to surprise you, the bad guys remain bad, the good are good, the neutral are neutral nothing changes or happens. Whatever was supposed to happen happens. So what's the point of watching it? Some useless diversions which make no sense, probably a very personal film, fails at all levels. There is the classic whore with a heart of gold, the drifter, the two friends, but the chemistry is missing. The electricity just went out. They are all on high, so no lows!

This movie is entertaining, interesting, funny, and the characters are well developed. The only reason this movie has such a low IMDb rating is the apparent perception by many viewers that it condones recreational drug use. What these Christian Nazis fail to realize is that at times this movie does indeed portray recreational drug use as being fun and entertaining, while at other times it shows that recreational drug use can be a drag on your existence. I can see why an adult with teenage kids who watches this movie might freak out and take a couple of Zanex and then overreact and log on to IMDb and vote 1 based on some misguided fervor resulting from their being a Republican George Bush Junior Super Christian Nazi. But the movie is still entertaining and fun with good acting and good character development and an interesting story. Come on now people, lighten up a little bit. Just because you enjoy this movie doesn't mean your kids are going to become heroine addicts or crankheads.

I also watched this at like 2 AM. It's one of those movies with good looking guy's who have an excitement to them that keeps you watching, I actually thought the dialog was very original. It also has a generally satisfying ending which is the most important part in my opinion. The movie sort of toyed with sexuality issues in a bizzare way, going right up to the line and pulling back. One problem is I missed the beginning of this movie! Being that I'm gay I thought the two guys were as one character says, "in love". I've seen some movies where two closet cases dance around their feeling for eachother before... or is that my life? Anyway, no doubt this movie seemed to almost hint at bisexuality. Just never comes right out and says it.Mysterious movie, but if you are not uptight and can enjoy a good story then it's well worth you're time.
