It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

With the previous two movies being essentially the one and the same, then I was somewhat dreading sitting down to watch "Death Wish 3".However, at least this third movie has an original story to it. Sure, it wasn't an overly thrilling or impressive story, but it differed from the previous two movies to make it stand out. They did up the action quite a lot in this third movie, as there was a lot of action and fighting throughout most of the movie. The gang members that Paul Kersey (played by Charles Bronson) was fighting in "Death Wish 3" seemed like something from a comic book gang, and were hard to take serious."Death Wish 3" feels very campy, yet it was still refreshing that they broke the formula from the previous two movies.

Where do you start with this one... I don't know why the main gang has such hatred for innocent old people (mind you WW2 vets) minding their own business nor do I know what they will gain from taking over such a tenement and destroying every last store in their neighborhood but I guess we are to ignore those logical questions for the sake of the movie which you have you. Accept its ridiculousness and over the top representations of gang life in those days and you will enjoy the justice that ensues. Living in the building we have the cliche of tenants which consist of working class folks, leftover elderly from the better days of the neighborhood, the upstanding Jewish couple. We witness the morale vacancy of the gang and the destruction and violence they inflict seemingly without motive. I was just glad to see them dead.

Provided the viewer goes into this movie knowing it is a bonanza of cheesy acting, corny dialogue, handguns that fire 46 rounds without the need to reload, and bad-guys who can't shoot worth a damn, Death Wish 3 is an enjoyable journey through a mid-1980s environment of urban blight, multi-racial criminal gangs, incompetent police, and helpless civilians who couldn't protect themselves from a larger-than-average bumblebee. Please understand that this is not a hit-piece against Charles Bronson or any of the other actors or makers of this film. The truly dedicated performances turned in by the actors should not be diminished by the utter silliness and hilarity of the movie which resulted.

Death Wish 3 (1985) 92 minutes 18 - for graphic violence and a sexual scene Plot - Architect/vigilante Paul Kersey arrives back in New York City and is forcibly recruited by a crooked police detective to fight street crime caused by a large gang terrorizing the neighbourhood's. I think I can almost stop right there when discussing this film whichis a definitive improvement over the previous film death wish 2 which exploitative garbage at its worst this isn't a great movie either but there's a lot more depth to the story and generally serviceable performances buy the cast especially Charles Bronson who is suitably adequate as the title character Paul kersey and Ed lauther as a grumpy no-nonsense police officer who assists kersey in battling the street gang who lead by suitably terrifying maniac played by Gavan O'Herlihy as manny Faker and preposterous but fun choreographed action scenes especially the heart wrenching finale which left me on the very edge of my seat until the very end . so overall if you were put off by the rancid sequel that was death wish 2 give it a chance its a no brainier picture to be sure but its a fun and entertaining way to spend 90 minutes .
