It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Cody Banks (Frankie Muniz) is a regular teenager in real life but is training as a secret CIA agent unknown to his parents (Cynthia Stevenson, Daniel Roebuck). Dr. Connors (Martin Donovan) is developing nanobots to eat up oil slicks but he doesn't know that he works for an evil organization E.R.I.S. who will use them as weapons. Cody is tasked to befriend his daughter Natalie Connors (Hilary Duff) only that he's not quite the ladies man that the CIA director (Keith David) thinks he is. The agency sends hot and bitter Ronica Miles (Angie Harmon) as his handler. It's a silly little James Bond Jr movie. It does go into stupid territories a lot. I don't mind most of that but it's generally not funny. I do mind Angie Harmon strutting around in the boys locker room. It's more than a little creepy and again it's not funny. His girl shyness is cute but again it's taken to a creepy place. It would be better for the movie to fully embrace the PG rating. I actually really liked some of the action like his rescue of the kid in the runaway car. This should be more of a kids movie but I'm guessing they're trying to target this for teenage boys. It's a mistake since most of them would want something much more grown up.

Agent Cody BanksWhen undercover at a high school it is important to remember that you cannot use that fact to get laid by students. However, not even that Intel could get the pint-sized spy in this action movie a date. When 15-year-old CIA agent Cody Banks (Frankie Muniz) is assigned to shadow high school student Natalie (Hilary Duff) - the daughter of a scientist employed by an organization (Ian McShane, Arnold Vosloo) planning to use nanotechnology to take control of the world - he finds it difficult to approach her.So, before Cody can capture the criminals, he must first get help from his fellow operatives in order to master the art of talking to the opposite sex. Thanks to its goofy scenarios and kooky gadgets, this obvious James Bond knock-off for kids can be construed as being a somewhat entertaining family movie. In reality, however, younger agents typically go undercover in child porn rings. This was a decent film, not as innovative as Spy Kids but an improvement over Stormbreaker. Of course it is very silly, and has a predictable plot and an uneven script. But due to the spirited performances from the entire cast, it is great fun. Frankie Muniz gives a sense of charm and cheekiness to his role, and while having less to do, Hilary Duff gives one of her better performances here. Angie Harmon also is fabulously sexy as Agent Miles, revealing outfit and all, and Ian Mcshane is great as Brinkman. While there are discrepancies in the script sometimes, there are inspired moments of physical comedy that delivers the laughs. Also the film goes along at a fast pace, and there are wonderful stunts and action sequences. Predictable, but great fun. 7/10 Bethany Cox

I thought that this movie was awesome. The beginning and the middle parts are the best parts of the film. I like the skateboard chase, the idea of the Junior CIA, and when boy meets girl and makes a fool of himself(at first). There is great chemistry between Frankie Muniz and Hilary Duff. They are actors I normally don't like, but they are great in this film. The special effects are cool and the stunts are fairly good. The evil guy was playing his part of evil and so were his sidekicks. A lot of people including critics are ripping off this movie. Don't listen to the critics because the film is great, mark my words! I rate this movie 8/10.
