It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

The beginning promised an entertaining thriller;and James Caan being in it was a big plus. But the screenwriters let the cat out the bag too soon:as we know from the start that Schuster is the absolute villain,a criminal crook as well as a young girls amateur ,there's nothing left in store for the viewer. The monolithic actor ,Craig Fairbrass-he makes Jason Statham look like an Oscar-caliber actor and JCVD as a shakespearean thespian- tries his best to make us feel how he loves his dearest daughter, but he is much better at shaking his fists of steel (he is a military man).Little by little ,the movie turns into a "thriller' version of "the wizard of oz",as new characters join the hero one by one and head for the wizard's desirable mansion (hasn't he got a machine (the computer) which impresses and frightens the world ?).In one of the cheesiest (with a gratuitous use of slow motion)ending I've ever seen, the daughter approves of her dad's new motto " there's no place like home".

Some Writer/Directors prefer to use the same actors in their films. You can't blame them for wanting to work with people they're comfortable with, but not many Writer/Directors, remake the exact same movie with a slightly different twist. Brian A. Miller came out of relative obscurity to produce the hit action thriller, The Prince, starring Bruce Willis. Less than a year later, he followed it up with The Outsider, which is basically the exact same film! The Prince featured a former mafia turncoat, going to the city he once owned, in order to find his missing daughter. The Outsider features a former member of British Special Ops, coming to America, to find his missing daughter. Both films have similar endings, mafia bosses that are played by legendary action stars, and oddly enough, both films have a cameo by 50 cent. These two films are literally so similar to one another, that aside from the British accent, and Jason Patric in the role of the cop, nothing has really changed. As a fan of action film, I realize there aren't many different directions these films can go in, but to release what amounts to the exact same film, a year later, with several of the same actors, is just bizarre. The Outsider wasn't a bad film, and I did enjoy Craig Fairbrass, he was a beast, who I was previously unfamilar with, but aside from that, this is the exact same story as seen in The Prince. Wheather you chose to sit through this one or that one, really depends on who you like better, James Caan or Bruce Willis.

Sleepy Action Movie with a Few Familiar Faces for Support and a Hulking Tough Guy from across the Pond. The Plot is as Haggard and Confused as the Driving Fights are Buy the Book Boring.James Caan Struggles for Breath, not During a Confrontation but just a Conversation and Jason Patric is Forgettable as are the Two Beauties along for Eye Candy. Craig Fairbrass is the Star Sporting a Large Frame, Military Training, and a Thick Accent that makes things even Less Attainable.Overall, it is Not Worth Much even for the Most Completest of DTV Action Junkies and those who are the most Forgiving of Fisticuffs and Firearms Fans, because this one has a Pacing that just Plods.

For a film with Jason Patric and James Caan, this movie is very disappointing. The movie started well actually, but as soon as Lex Walker (played by Craig Fairbrass)showed up it went downhill from there. The storyline was terrible. For a movie that looked like it has a lot of action in it, well I nearly went to sleep watching it.The ending was even pretty bad. I mean there was shooting upstairs and yet nobody downstairs heard any shots until two bodies fell into the pool. Schuuster (played by James Caan) was no more than 10 meters from the pool, fired about 12 shots and hit his target once.Definitely give this one a miss.
