If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

I remember that I saw this movie many years ago, but couldn't really recall whether it was a funny movie or not. I happened to find it again on Netflix, so I decided to sit down and watch it again. It turned out that the movie was actually funny, and I did recall the basics of the storyline. Darren (played by Jason Biggs) is about to marry Judith (played by Amanda Peet), a thing that Darren's two best friends, Wayne (played by Steve Zahn) and J.D. (played by Jack Black) does not want to see happen. The cast in the movie was good, and I especially enjoyed the roles played by Jack Black, Steve Zahn and Amanda Peet, because they really carried the movie so well. There are some good laughs here and there throughout the course of the movie."Saving Silverman" can be watched more than once; you just have to wait a significant amount of years before doing so.

Everything else about this movie is lovely. It is easily one of the funniest things I have ever seen, and everything about it other than Biggs, is awesome. Ermey, Black, Peet, and Hahn overact every single thing they do, to hilarious effect, and the plot line is stupid enough to be a farce of itself, which just sets up the actors for all of the stupidity even better. 10/10 despite Biggs' awful crap, as the rest make up for it in droves.

It's not meant to be taken seriously. You just need to take it in and ride it out! Be open to the ridiculousness giggle fest. If Neal Diamond and Raccoon Slap stick Humor had a baby it would explain this movie. But, I'm 26yr okd and I am happily writing a response for this film in 2017, Because So far after thefact, it introduced me to Neal Diamond's famous hit song "Hello" And show cased Jason Bigg's only "talent" after American Pie.It really is an excessive is Hollywood's attempted to bank in on things they think would make money quickly at the time.*Jason Biggs CHECK *Jack Black CHECK *Neal Diamond CHECK *Odd Animal Relations CHECK!!!!All and All, Take it for what it is and Chuckle Profusely.

Saving Silverman is another guilty pleasure of mine, a film that is kind of silly and pointless, but I think is really funny and has great re- watch appeal. The film is about a trio of childhood pals (Jason Biggs, Steve Zahn, Jack Black), who have a Neil Diamond tribute band, who find themselves torn apart when Biggs meets an emasculating psychologist (Amanda Peet), who demands that Biggs not see Zahn and Black anymore and their mission to get Biggs away from this shrew, who has Biggs so whipped he doesn't even realize it when the woman he really loves (Amanda Detmer) re-enters his life. The film goes all the places you expect it to, but the journey is very, very funny thanks primarily to deliciously entertaining performances from Zahn and Black. The breezy direction by Dennis Dugan, who directed a lot of Adam Sandler's best comedies, is a big plus and the film is worth seeing, if for no other reason, to see Jack Black and R Lee Ermey (FULL METAL JACKET) share a kiss.
