Beautiful Mandy Lane isn't a party girl but, when classmate Chloe invites the Texas high school student to a bash in the countryside, she reluctantly accepts. After hitching a ride with a vaguely scary older man, the teens arrive at their destination. Partying ensues, and Mandy's close pal, Emmet, keeps a watchful eye on the young males making a play for Mandy. Then two of the students are murdered.

True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

I'll start off by saying the bar was set pretty low for this flick. While I love horror, slasher horror is one of my least favorite types. What made this film for me (along with several other reviewers) is the cinematography. It's a real visual treat - pretty in parts, gritty and terrifying in parts, with a "we're stuck in the middle of dry, dead earth" type of despair to it. I didn't want to think Amber Heard did a good job. I don't think the role of Mandy Lane required much but a really beautiful girl (which she is), but her delivery and execution is spot on. Michael Welch held his own and all the supporting kids were believable. When the killings start, it's pretty obvious who is doing it. The first murder is particularly brutal. The "twist" is not much of a twist, but it's well executed.I had a lot of problems with the dialog, but then, I have a lot of problems listening to teenagers talk in real life. So I'm betting the dialog was pretty standard and not as cringe-worthy as I thought. I'm not familiar with the writer (Jacob Forman) and originally decided to watch this movie because I mistakenly thought Jonathan Levine wrote it. He directed it, but I like his writing (The Wackness, Warm Bodies).Certain parts drag - I get that we need to build that droning, neverending party feeling but I wish there was a way to do that without a droning, neverending party. There is a lot of violence but it's....muffled. I don't know how else to describe it. It's effective because taking the edge out of it makes it seem more real. If you like horror movies, you might like this. If you like slasher movies, you will probably like it.

A lot! This movie is rated as low as it can possibly go, and that is because these people rather watch a boring found footage, or drawn out take the whole movie to do something and nothing happens to the last 10 minutes and they call that better movie. That is where they are totally stupid and wrong.Sitting there watching the whole movie and nothing happens, that is a boring movie. That is a waste of time. At least thing had something happening throughout the movie. So sick of great movies rated low because of this crap. They should never be allowed to rate movies.Violence is always better than nothing at all happening. So sick of found footage praised, and boring nothing happening movies praised. This movie is about trying to figure things out and why and who is the killer, and when you find out, you are like whoa. Also, still this site does not force mandatory rate or votes. Still lame as heck, because it still shows bad reviews and ratings. How can they still want this site to suck because of that? I mean it does not suck but the ratings do. They will never be accurate because of this.

The "twist" is very predictable. The ending will leave you feeling robbed. None of the characters are likable but you do not really hate them either. Pretty much do not care about any of them. Mandy Lane is hot for sure but I think "like" is a mis-characterization of how all the boys feel about her. This is another one of those contemporary slasher flicks that ends on a very dark note. If you are looking for vindication or a sense of justice where monsters are defeated by the virtuousness watch Friday 13th or Halloween.I believe that slasher films are analogous to a persons inner struggle to defeat the demons with in themselves. The residual rage that some of us care from our childhood. In most movies from this genre the protagonist defeats this darkness and finds freedom. In this film the darkness wins and the observer is left trapped in his own self destructive motivations. These are not spoilers but warnings to those like myself that enjoy a good slasher film because it renews are faith in the power of will!Be warned!

I absolutely despised this movie. I hated the characters, the plot, the acting, and I even hated Mandy Lane (Amber Heard). Basically the characters all keep dying one by one and I didn't mind this at all, I looked forward to it. Not so much the way in which they died because it was unnecessarily gory but I found myself thinking, "When are they going to die?" "They better die soon." and "It's about time!" The characters were so obnoxious, immature, and perverted that you couldn't help but want them to be killed off. "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane" was unnecessarily perverted throughout the entire film accompanied by an abundance of alcohol and drug use. Anyone who drinks that much and does that many drugs is an alcoholic and drug addict, not an average teenager.Things started getting a little interesting in the last few minutes. The twist was unexpected though dumb but it made watching the movie more bearable.
