Carnage (2011)

That was an excellent one.

It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

One of the well made film ever. if you want a funny as F movie, here this is.

What I want to say is that it's not your best movie and it could be better, but as it is, it's a wonder. It could be a movie to be put into management classes, like composing, like having a shot. How to place characters without appearing to place them. There are people who say that it is a way of filming very theater, what they do not understand is that the theater is seen in a general plane and here what you see is very flat composed with terms in the foreground telling what matters. Even so I could have done better and take more advantage.I do not like that the film seems incomplete, I know some will say that with what there is, everything is said, but personally I like closed endings.The actors can not be better. As they change their interpretations, and all square from one plane to another, with the preparation they carry. How are their characters changing?Photography is very good, without being spectacular, how much the story. It does not put much light through the window and it leaves you blind. It seems that it is not there, however it is.What else to say about the director. Rolling is a genius. It does not bore you, on the contrary, it catches you. Makes an entertaining movie in a living room. Beautiful and composed plans to cut a story. All well measured and without losing story from one plane to another.It's a little gem, do not stop seeing the.

Taking a look on BBC iPlayer,I spotted an intriguing title from Roman Polanski. Greatly enjoying his 2010 movie The Ghost Writer,I got set to witness Polanski's screen carnage.The plot:After their kids Zachary Cowan & Ethan Longstreet get in a fight,parents Michael and Penelope Longstreet invite Nancy and Alan Cowan round to clear the matter in their flat. Agreeing to write a letter about what the boys have done, the couples soon begin to reveal their true feelings on the other couple,and of each other.View on the film:Filmed in real time,co-writer/(along with Yasmina Reza and Michael Katims) director Roman Polanski and cinematographer Pawel Edelman display a fine eye for physical Comedy,with Polanski showing a surprising gleefulness in covering the apartment with broken phones and vomit. Based on co-writer Yasmina Reza's one-set play,the writers lock the flat in an absurdist atmosphere,where every attempt the Cowan's make to leave the flat causes the arguments to become more ridiculous.Whilst the peculiar behaviour of the couples is peeled open,the writers never go beyond the bleeding heart Liberal and sharp dressed businessman suffice,that causes the film to run out of steam,due to the characters not being built up well enough to make the jet-black Comedy games fully hit their targets.Cast as a shining Liberal elite, Jodie Foster disappointingly gives an overcooked performance as Penelope,due to Foster's stage-bound manner ruining Penelope's Liberal chic with shrieks that aim for the absurd, but just run cold. Playing the notes that Foster misses, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly give great performances as Michael Longstreet and Alan Cowan,thanks to the guys keeping Cowan's work obsession and Longstreet's off-the-cuff manners intact, even as their conversations get more off-beat,whilst Kate Winslet throws up a wonderfully catty performance as Nancy,as the full carnage starts to kick in.

The first five minutes of watching this movie really hooked me, the shots, the music, Jodie foster AND Kate Winslet starring beside each other... Its just tells you that you are about to watch a little modern gem, but that's not exactly how it turned out.First of all, the dialogue, I don't care if this was modeled after a play, it was awful. Watching all these irked characters got old and I found myself irked. The ridiculous dialogue just sort of snuck in through the back door, the lines these characters were so blatantly spitting out. I felt like I was witnessing people in a really stupid, unrealistic dream because that's how they talked in this movie and that would have been fine even, IF they just left that friggin apartment and had more of an interesting plot. I don't get it, was the plot outline two sentences? The script as a whole was probably less than 10 pages. About half way through I was like, they are not going to drag this one conversation through the entire movie are they?
