For their honeymoon, newlyweds Cliff and Cydney head to the tropical islands of Hawaii. While journeying through the paradisaical countryside the couple encounters Kale and Cleo, two disgruntled hitchhikers and Nick and Gina, two wild but well-meaning spirits who help guide them through the lush jungles. The picturesque waterfalls and scenic mountainsides quickly give way to terror when Cliff and Cydney learn of a grisly murder that occurred nearby and realize that they're being followed by chance acquaintances that suspiciously fit the description of the killers.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

This film wants to be a more modern version of A Most Dangerous Game and it falls short. If you like A Perfect Getaway then do yourself a favor and watch A Most Dangerous Game (1932)... it's much better than this film.

Honestly this was the worst movie I ever ever seen. The story doesn't make any sense. A couple scared of killers all the time, and then it comes - they are the killers themselves. It doesn't make any sense and I still can't believe that such a story ended as a movie.

A Perfect Getaway is very entertaining. It is an extremely scenic movie and a delight to watch simply for the beautiful landscape and foliage alone. The film starts off having you believe it is going to be another shaky first person cam production but that is not the case. It has an extremely upbeat vibe to it regardless of the dark undertones of the plot unfolding...There are a couple of interesting twists which may or may not be predictable depending on if you're an avid film buff or not but it doesn't take anything away from the experience. The acting is up to par for the most part. I would categorize the film as a thriller/horror/adventure (but my spectrum for what i categorize as horror is pretty wide), others I'm sure may disagree.Fun film overall, kept me interested through-out. It is far from perfect of course as there are certain elements that are a little over the top and coincidental that may have you rolling your eyes, but in this instance it didn't harm the film experience too much for me. I went into it with zero expectations and was fully entertained. Decent flick.

For a film riddled with flaws somehow it still holds up as a pretty good and entertaining movie. The acting is decent enough especially from Steve Zahn (Cliff) who is the most believable character in the film. The plot has more holes in it than a paper mache bullet proof vest; but you will forgive that as the action is very well done, some of the slash, smash and cut scene's are some of the best (realistic) I have seen apart from the lack of blood. The camera work is strange but good and it holds as a twisting thriller. For the cheese fans it has some exhibits of the famous melt but isn't a meltbuster, the plot in itself could easily pass as cheese and Timothy Olyphant (Nick) is a possible nominee for cheese of the year. By no means the greatest film ever made or even close but well worth the watch you won't be disappointed, you'll give out about the plot but will soon forgive.Rating: 6.5/10. Cheeseometer: 9.75/50
