This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

With "Anchorman" reaching cult status, fans have been demanding a sequel. Now they got one...over a decade later. So was it worth it?Fans of the original will enjoy it, with all the first movie's jokes reused (including another epic, cameo-filled news team battle). The characters are still the same: Ron's a chauvinistic idiot (if anything, he's even dumber in the sequel), Brian's still obsessed with sex, Champ is a dumb racist with an unhealthy fascination for Ron and Brick as a delightfully dense as before (even turning up to his own funeral). Kristen Wiig starts as Brick's equally empty-headed girlfriend. They're a scarily perfect couple. The sequel sees the team tackle the burgeoning 24-hour news cycle, using car chases and animal puff pieces to get big ratings. While you don't expect "Anchorman" to make biting political commentary, it does foreshadow the sensationalism of 24-hour news and even mainstream new bulletins, with attention-grabbing 'news' instead of real stories. While it lacks the original's iconic and endlessly quotable jokes, "Anchorman 2" works as pure fan service, giving people more of what they want. The tagline could well be 'The Sequel You Wanted is Finally Here. Enjoy."

The original Anchorman, created in 2004, became a classic and still has quotes being recited to this day such as Ron yelling, "Milk was a bad choice!" or Brick's kind invitation to Veronica saying, "I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party." Although the 2013 film Anchorman 2: The Legend of Ron Burgundy has many funny lines, it not only is less quotable but much less memorable. Movies represent what is currently acceptable to say and do in real life, and each generation is receiving a different, more vulgar, representation of life. Whether or not the movie is realistic, or completely off the wall and animated, the content is subconsciously understood by the viewer as what is currently acceptable in society. The English vocabulary receives the biggest hit from movies. . Language shows the current trends in the ever evolving vocabulary, and jokes made within films, quickly turn into popular phrases heard around school. Anchorman 2, although it is rated the same as its predecessor, it is shown to have much more vulgar language. With information from IMDb, the Internet Movie Database, we are able to statistically compare the two films. Both films possess 1 use of the F word and 14 sexual references. But when it comes to scatological and anatomical terms there are much more in the second film. The first Anchorman has 5 scatological and 19 anatomical terms while the second Anchorman has 14 anatomical terms and 27 scatological terms. Anatomical terms are considered, "words referring to parts of the human anatomy, mostly the private parts, and are considered crude" (IMDb). Scatological terms refer to, "words that have to do with feces, urine and defecation" (IMDb). This side by side comparison shows a clear increase in obscenities from the first to the second film. This is a very blatant depiction showing how the MPAA has become more lenient over time, but if that is not enough evidence already, both films are given the exact same five out of ten evaluation on profanity. Fortunately Anchorman 2, received a much lower view count than the ongoing hit of the first movie, and because the jokes were not as funny as the original, they did not quite stick as well. But, because of the impact movies play on our minds, this is still a topic of concern. With each new movie coming out, it is questionable what the language will be like within that film.

This was the same as the first film - racist jokes and genital jokes. I suppose that's what kinda threw me off but we gotta love Will Ferrell regardless if he makes such stupid statements right? That's his fault as Ron Burgandy I was so surprised to see such an amount of celebrities like Kanye West, Jim Carrey, Tina Fey, Harrison Ford, Sacha Baron Cohen, Will Smith, Vince Vaughn, Amy Poehler, Liam Neeson and John C. Reilly all appearing in the fight. I was like so thrilled to see them all unexpectedly, where does Will Ferrell get these people? It was funny how they all were from different news sources and just came out of the blue for no reason!I wonder what happened to them all after Brick accidentally let the spark go on the split gas on the road? Hope they weren't killed lol!Anyways this film does make you laugh like hell. It is stupid so be warned that you could be easily put off by the offensive jokes!
