This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

Avoid this so-called 'horror' film at all costs, unless you want a lesson in how not to act. It would be harsh to pin the blame for an overall poor film on the lead actress, but Famke Janssen did not suit this role at all. It was almost like she was embarrassed to be seen in this film.'100 Feet' is a low-budget horror and it certainly shows. The special effects are incredibly cheap and the ghost of the husband isn't remotely scary. The fact that the film virtually relies on the ghost scenes for the majority of its scares, you can imagine just how scary it is.. not at all.

Marnie Watson after being released from prison and placed under house arrest is being haunted by her abusive policeman husband having killed him in self-defense.Directed and written by Eric Red 100 Feet is very much a vehicle for the exceedingly likable Famke Jannsen in this Hitchcock Rear Window like set up only here Red plays on her police tag stopping her leave the house. Reminiscent of Stir of Echoes and countless other horrors it works better when there's practical effects rather than in your face CGl. What could have been played out as a subtle subtext pulls no punches as the abusive ghost angle is interesting, tackling the subject of marital physical abuse head on. Bobby Cannavale's small role is notable and the everyday borough setting gives the film some weight. While the tale is very straight forward Red offers some wince inducing violent scenes, some spooky set ups and to its credit it goes against the norm with some surprising ghost attacks during the day. Jannsen fans will be pleased and for fans of the genre while not particularly scary the shocks are enough to pass the time swimmingly.

This is one of those Engaging Stories that Disengages Viewers too many times asking Plot Questions and Character Behavior. It Compels than Dispels Disbelief so much that the Flow of the Film is Disrupted and that is Deadly for a Suspense/Thriller.It is a Yin/Yang of a Movie that has many things that are Intriguing, like the Shackled Wife being Shackled by Law Enforcement after being Beat-On by Her Abusive Husband. She is on House Arrest for Killing Her Spouse in Self Defense. Some things that Happen are just Stupid and some things are Impressive in a Scary Movie Way, but the CGI is Overused (especially in the rather bad ending) and one of the Weakest Elements, and this is a Big One, is the Inconsistent Ability of the Vengeful Ghost Entity. Sometime He is like a Super-Demon from Hell and Quickly in another Scene is Struggling to get the Job done.Overall, it is a Frustratingly Mediocre Movie that seems Sophomoric from a Seasoned Writer/Director at Home in this Element. It comes across Frequently as not to well thought out and the whole thing is a Wasted Opportunity that remains of interest only to the most Accepting of Genre Fans.

The first minutes of this film don't reveal if it's gonna be a good movie or not. Reading the synopsis we get to think it's just another dumb scary movie, but as the movie goes we can see it is not. In most horror movies involving haunting and entities the characters don't leave the haunted house because they don't believe in what's happening-- that's very cliché. In this movie the main character BELIEVES, but can't leave the house because she is in house arrest. Sometimes we notice it's a scary version of the classic "Ghost", but it doesn't spoil the movie's quality. Special effects are plausible and well done-- considering it's budget, they are actually GREAT. Famke Janssen and Bobby Cannavale are two relatively unknown actors that surprised me with such good acting, I didn't think they'd be this good. Photography is beautiful and story is well written-- with exception of Poltergeist movements from the ghost--, making it hard to believe an independent movie would be so professional. All in all, this is a surprisingly good scary movie that afflicts the spectator, don't miss this picture!
