Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

The movie will hold your attention, but seems to lose it's direction after about a half hour or so in. I also wonder why they paint the man's lips to bright red. Totally distracting. Looks like a cartoon clown sometimes in the movie. Other times he looks normal. I don't get it why they do that.

First of all the positives. There are so many truly dreadful video projects being called films coming through these days that is always a relief, personally, to get past the first few minutes and realise it is well made movie. And this one really is. It deserves a 5 just for that. The premise here though is becoming over used, that film quality memories can be generated by putting a few sensors on someone's forehead and that others can participate in those memories. Silly really as a plot device, but the cast and script mostly gets past that. Brian Cox' American accent is for me still quite funny, but everything goes well until it dawns you're being set up for a 'twist'. As it unveils you have to try too hard to ignore all the plot devices and they just become silly in the end which left me feeling disappointed. Why can't script writers think up and execute genuinely unforeseeable or just credible endings to these types of films instead of leaving you thinking of the dozen or so gaping holes in the plot or what sane people wouldn't have done. Shame, all great up to the end.

Mindscape is a movie where You as the viewer should pay close attention and try figuring out whats going on. I would recommend watching this alone so you can immerse yourself fully into it. This film does not explain everything in the first 5 minutes, it wants you to follow, so don't give up and you will be rewarded. Watch it twice if you have questions (I had a lot), but thats the whole charm of it, a movie you think about longer than you watch it. Besides that, the movie is beautiful shot well directed and has very good actors despite the fact that I did not know all of them which is kind of refreshing. This is a definitive must watch 8/10.

I've seen worse. This isn't too bad.Problem number 1, at least for me, is that I thought it was some sort of a horror movie. Perhaps that's my mistake. Instead it's a psychological thriller.Problem number 2 is that there are no really good acting performances in this film. Everyone does "okay".All this is not to say that the film doesn't have its moments. The concept of a "mind detective" is actually kinda interesting. And, any movie that has a double twist at the end -- neither of which I saw coming -- can't be all bad.But here's the bottom line. If I had it to do over again, I wish I'd not wasted 99 minutes. I would compare this to a moderate t.v. movie.
