In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

I remember being disappointed by it when it first came out but after rewatching it, I actually quite enjoyed it. I find it pretty topical and I liked that cognitive dissonance was so predominate. It felt pretty tongue in cheek of the genre. I wished they had fleshed out Beth more, but given the ending some of the things I may have had a problem with don't matter. And the fact that it was telegraphed early on made it pretty easy for me to just enjoy it. The narration is fairly entertaining, acting isn't bad, cool tech, good action. Overall yeah, not bad for me. Maybe it's because I watched those 80s movies though, my standards are lowered.Great production value, decent acting, interesting commentary on cognitive dissonance. Great action, pretty cool tech. Not sure how this could be rated more poorly than some of the old shitty ones, like Nemesis for example.

If you can't keep up with the payments, your transplant is removed.Starring Forest Whitaker, Jude law and Alice Braga.Written by Eric Garcia and Garret Lerner.Directed by Miguel Sapochnik. This really wasn't my cup of tea. It's a good idea wasted. The whole premise was promising but it just turned into another 'shoot them up' action movie when it could have been much more.On a positive note the performances by Forest Whitaker and Alice Braga were decent. Jude Law, on the contrary, was pretty wooden. But the whole thing was way too far fetched and unrealistic and repetitive. The plot was monotonous and just kept on going around in circles,And it was too gory for my liking. It made me feel a little bit sick to be honest and I even felt like that a few hours after it finished. And I'm a nurse and blood doesn't bother me!I was yawning towards the end and that says a lot. If you've seen one movie where a guy spends one and a half hours taking on ( and killing) two dozen armed men single handed, you've pretty much seen them all. A wasted opportunity.6/10

Title: Repo MenCondensed Storyline: In the world of organ repossessions a repo man gets into an accident where he needs to have his heart replaced, but he struggles to make the payments, this is when he goes on the run and becomes what he used to hunt.Notable Acting: The actors in this movie are casted great, I do enjoy the chemistry between Jude Law's character and Forest Whitaker's character, this is the most important part of a buddy cop movie I was feeling kind of meh about Alice Braga's character, but that is mainly because I would like to see a film where two characters of the opposite sex do not hook up together. I understand that she was there to show him the life of those who live in fear of repo, but I would have preferred that they didn't get together. Noticeable Camera work: The camera work is a mixture between faced paced work for when the action comes along but then slows down to a more relaxed way of viewing when it is time for conversations and such. The angles leave a bit to be desired though, they aren't all too creative. But they get the point across and you see what you need to see.Overall Feel: Chases are I will compare this movie to 'Repo The Genetic Opera' a lot as they are very similar movies. Fans of 'Repo The Genetic Opera' have mixed feelings about this movie as 'Repomen' basically took the entire storyline of 'Repo The Genetic Opera' and made it their own. Repoman does the job that family doesn't like, problems arise and he turns against the company his works for before dying in the end. But I feel that this movie does enough things differently in this movie to justify it, the more works more on the buddy cop theme than anything else, and the repo is just plot mover. They also take their character to different levels, because in this movie the main Repoman becomes what he is paid to hunt and gets hunted for it, whereas in 'Repo The Genetic Opera' the main Repoman gets hunted because he will not kill the friend of his dead wife. This movie uses bio-mechanical organs which is a nice adaption and would seem more feasible in their future time. This is the only movie which has sex, surgery, computer hacking scene. That is creative to say the very least. The twist that happens at the end of the movie is very nicely executed and my use of language gives you the hint, but it wasn't expected on my part. But I found it a great ending to say the least. The movie is quite bouncy in the fact that is switches from funny face to serious face a lot and generally back and forth a lot, not that I have a problem with it. I enjoyed this movie, but I still prefer 'Repo The Genetic Opera' as I enjoyed it's whole cast of characters along with its original organ repo idea.

Here is a movie which received lots and lots of negative reviews which, in my opinion, it did not deserve. Yes,!!(SPOILER)!! it might look like the 1985 "Brazil" as so many critics claim, but then again most of the movies today (late 2000's and on) are in my opinion licked off their 20th century predecessors and big successes. For a sci-fi, this picture is one worth watching for at least two reasons: 1)the plot is wrapped in a futuristic cloak which quite frankly fits with modern world issues, a quality many movies lack today, and !!(SPOILER)!! 2) it is bloody, dirty and filthy exactly the way it should be, no less and no more. Now I have read some reviews where the movie is blamed to be exactly that, an unnecessary bloodbath, but it simply cannot be otherwise. As for the sarcastic comments concerning !!(SPOILER)!! the unrealistic fight scenes and surgical operations beyond survival reality, PLEASE do not forget that this is nothing but !!(SPOILER)!! a plot of the main hero's imagination, a dream. "Inception" was full of this, so why is "Repo Men" so bullied? More importantly, and that's really the point of this probably long and boring review is that many critics are missing the point of the movie: its message. Hurrying to bury it in "unnecessary violence" and "unchecked reality", many forget that it sends out a clear message about where we are going. It is really, as some said, a satire (and a very sad one) of our "merchandised", "customer-based" reality. The ending in my opinion is somewhat expected, but then again it is absolutely brilliant, wrapping and putting all the "rough stitches" back in place for the "meticulous" viewers. I especially liked the "cat reference" in the movie, something many have probably never paid attention to. Really, !!(SPOILER)!! Remy is exactly that, the cat. Everything came back to the beginning, a prophecy.I recommend this movie for people who are not afraid of gore where it is inevitable and who like their films to be with a grain of thought in them, something an awful lot of so-called "blockbusters" today absolutely lack.
