I mostly enjoyed this biopic of the production of The Prince and the Showgirl. Michelle Williams is excellent as Marilyn Monroe, and Eddie Redmayne does a decent job as the 3rd assistant director on the picture. Michelle Williams does an Oscar nominated performance as Marilyn and was wonderful. I enjoyed seeing how Marilyn might of been off camera and it was fun to see her be flirty. I also learned that her marriage to Arthur Miller was on the rocks just shortly after they were married, which makes her interest in Colin Clark more understandable. It shows how she was vulnerable and needed some comfort in a country she was not used to, during a production where she was not being treated as the star she was by Olivier. The movie is fairly slow, as many biopics are, but does well with the material. I enjoyed Michelle Williams performance mostly, and would recommend this movie to fans of Marilyn Monroe, and of bio pics. 7/10

I wasn't sure I would like this but it was pretty good. It's a bio piece and taken from the diary of a 23 year old Colin Clark who was hired as Marilyn Monroe's personal chauffeur for one week during the shooting of 'The Prince and the Showgirl' in 1956. Its his first job and Colin is determined to make his way in the film business, working as a lowly assistant until Marilyn takes him into her confidence.I think its the cast that makes this film anything other than average. Michelle Williams embodies Marilyn Monroe, not so much doing an impersonation (and really looking nothing like her) but somehow managing to become her, capturing her magnetism and vulnerability. I felt sorry for her, what a sad lonely person.Eddie Redmayne also does a great job as the young, ambitious and besotted Colin Clark. His performance isn't phenomenal, its average (his excellence is still to come). I also really enjoyed the hugely talented secondary cast and seeing who would pop up next; Kenneth Branagh as Sir Laurence Olivier, Judi Dench, Julie Ormond, Dougray Scott, Dominic Cooper, Toby Jones, Emma Watson, Jim Carter. 2/16/16

They look so real, but so what? Nobody born after about 1955 would know anything about Marilyn Monroe, and few would care.In this film she is portrayed as petulant, gullible, erratic, unfaithful, and only sometimes, as a brilliant actress, which is how she might wish to be remembered. The story of how Colin Clark met Monroe might be of interest to him, but few others? Eddie Redmayne does the part well, and so does Michelle Williams. Other great, but brief, performances come from Julia Ormond as Vivien Leigh and Lucy is Emma Watson, who clearly has a great future in the industry. But I very much doubt if there will ever be a film called "My Week with Emma Watson"!

My Week with Marilyn is a great movie with a very well developed storyline and an outstanding cast. It's a very interesting film, as it takes us in to the life of Colin Clark, a man who served as a production assistant during the filming of the Prince and the Showgirl, it is an intriguing story that I had never heard of before, I have a huge interest in film making and getting to get to know what went on in the background of these films will always captivate me, especially if they're as complicated as this one was. I think this film certainly could have been longer, when I saw that it was over it left me wanting more, it's only about ninety minutes long, but a biography film like this could easily go past two hours, it could have shown a lot more of Marilyn Monroe and given us more detail on her past and personal life, I understand the film revolves around Clark, but she is obviously the reason people will watch this movie. Eddie Redmayne shines in the lead role, but the performances of Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh as they play Hollywood icons Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier are simply breathtaking, they lived and breath these characters, their mannerisms are very accurate and they're unrecognizeable, they deserve any award they received for this film. Stunning performances and an easy to follow, but very interesting story, I would recommend My Week with Marilyn to anyone looking for a good drama or biography film. A young film studio assistant has a brief relationship with Marilyn Monroe as she films the Prince and the Showgirl. Best Performance: Michelle Williams
