Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

An archetypal (and purportedly true) underdog story, Dodgeball sees Vince Vaughn as lovable but apathetic gym owner Peter La Fleur, who, with his band of misfit customers, enters a national dodgeball tournament to try and win the $50,000 he needs to prevent his business from being acquired by corporate fitness freak White Goodman (Ben Stiller). The order of the day here is low-brow humour, with laughs derived from abject silliness, vulgarity and slapstick; thankfully, nearly all of the gags hit their target square in the face, meaning that even the most joyless of viewers will struggle to remain composed. Whether its the simple pleasure of seeing a person being hit in the knackers by a fast moving ball, the sight of an overweight cheerleader wearing no underwear falling ass down onto someone's face, or ridiculous lines of dialogue such as 'I've even seen a grown man satisfy a camel', Dodgeball is simply too daft not to enjoy.

Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story is a great movie with a well written storyline and a really great comedic cast. The movie is absolutely hilarious from start to finish,it wouldn't be on my list of favourite comedies, but it is a movie that whenever it is on TV I will watch and enjoy, and laugh at the exact same parts. This movie also has some very quotable lines, most of them coming from Ben Stiller's character White Goodman, who is without a doubt my favourite part of the movie,he was a very different character for Stiller and he played him very well.Dodgeball is a great movie that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good comedy. When his gym is in danger of closing down,Peter (Vince Vaughn) and some of his best customers and close friends enter in to a dodgeball tournament in order to win enough money to save his gym. Best Performance: Ben Stiller Worst Performance: Jason Bateman

This is a pretty funny movie about a group of underdogs and misfits, who enter a Las Vegas dodge-ball tournament in order to save their local gym from a much larger Global Gym run by muscular and athletic men.At 92 minutes, this movie is pretty intriguing from start to finish, nothing too drawn out that would render the movie boring and unremarkable. The story goes straight to the point of pitting the average joes against the athletes, telling us that even if you do seem like an underdog or are outnumbered, your perseverance will triumph over your adversaries. There are some corny moments, but this movie isn't meant to be taken as a serious drama.Vince Vaughn does a pretty good job in his role leading the underdogs, and Ben Stiller does a devilish job in portraying the leader of the Global Gym, trying to buy off Vaugh's local and struggling gym. And, it is a real treat to see some cameos from big stars such as Chuck Norris, Gary Cole, William Shatner and David Hasselhoff.Overall, a pretty fun film good for some laughs and surprises.Grade B+

In a storm of horrendous new comedies to come out at the beginning of the millennium (Aside from 2000's "Meet the Parents"), most were memorable yet others remained easily forgettable. Then came "Dodgeball" and suddenly I fell in love with a sport I barely knew existed, and a comedy where Ben Stiller's notoriously cartoonish nature just shined throughout."Dodgeball", is literally your "Average Joe" movie. Featuring dumb yet very lovable main "Joes", against the eccentric nut balls "Cobras" (A hilarious satire on people too much nowadays obsessed with physical perfection). But really if you came to find clever and wittiness in this movie, switch it off now because really if you're like everyone else you wanna see some DODGEBALL! Some of the hits in this movie will make you cry with laughter, and with teams like "Skillz that Killz", and the "Las Vegas P.D" etc. The film is very self aware and just has fun with itself.Vince Vaughn is a very likable character, and then you got Rip Torn who dishes out insults just as well as Seargent Hartmman did in "Full Metal Jacket" (1987). Add hilarious, yet pointless cameos from the likes of Lance Armstrong, William Shatner, David Hasselhoff and even CHUCK NORRIS no less. "Dodgeball" just gets funnier every time I see it.Final Verdict: Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and... Dodge. 7/10. It's a highly re-watchable kind of silly.
