How sad is this?
Highly Overrated But Still Good
I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
I've not watched this in years but my god......this film is wonderful. It's a tragic tale but also it isn't. It's about hope and about love. Some scenes destroyed me as the acting performances are phenomenal. If you get a chance please watch. Not all is what it seems.
What happens when we die? Don't we all want to know? This is a very vivid telling of what happens, and the place we go to before heaven or hell. The film has some very interesting visuals. As usual, Robin Williams gave an extraordinary performance, in a very different role for him, I might add. Humor, drama and adventure are very effectively intertwined, without any one of them becoming overbearing. The film also touches on a very touchy subject: suicide - especially having lost a friend to suicide not long ago. This surely must be a very difficult film to watch for parents, as well, who have lost a child. The film in its entirety was quite wonderful, actually, with a brilliant production design. I did find the ending a bit too much of a forced happy ending.
This is such a heart-wrenching film. I was on the verge of tears after not being able to for awhile, until i succumbed and cried heavily 3 times. This film meets with such disdain, loss and love mixed like muddy paint, its all round us and it can consume us. Its a film worth watching with someone close to your heart, as it brought out so many emotions between us our bond drew 10 times this night.
After he dies in a car crash, a man searches heaven and hell for his beloved wife. What Dreams May Come (1998) is a pretty cute film and definitely far better than critics made it sound like but i think it was a bit over dramatic than it should and i was really waiting for an actual tear jerking moment but it really didn't have any, the obvious green screen ruins the moments of the beautiful world and the whole part of Chris kids and friend changing bodies made no freaking sense but on the good side the acting is really good, the story is pretty sad to actually care and the entire world that they have created Heaven and Hell was something that was interesting enough to keep me interested and on board with the film. (7/10)
