The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

It's just not funny anymore. It was still funny last year but now it's just kind of dumb. It has a good cast, some decent action BUT it's just not funny. And the music just sucks but that has always been the case. I'm not sure I want to watch this again. If I do watch it again, it won't be for another 3 - 5 years. At least.

Miles Logan (played by Martin Lawrence) is a jewel thief in the midst of a multi-million dollar job in pursuit of a large diamond stored in a bank. But the plan quickly falls apart as one of his partners turns on him and the police are hot on his trail. He ditches the diamond in the air ducts of a building being built and must return for it after his prison sentence. Little does he that this building is a police station! What is Miles to do? He must sneak in as a cop!Good grief! This is in that late 90's/early aughts period where we were under the impression that not only was Martin Lawrence extremely funny but we thought he could prop up an entire movie as it's star! (For more evidence, see "Black Knight". This movie is atrocious. Lawrence's performance as a master jewel thief who enjoys wisecracks and overly gesticulating is abysmal.Unfortunately for us, the supporting cast is not helping us out either. Luke Wilson is a piece of milktoast as Lawrence's green- behind-the-ears detective partner. The only funny bits come from Dave Chappelle who is criminally underutilized in this one.Very seldomly do the jokes land and I was cringing at a lot of the bits. Lawrence's "Pizza Delivery Guy" character was one of the most painful things I've had to sit through in a very long time. I shudder at the thought. Conclusion: An unfunny movie that has become even more unfunny over time.

One of the best Martin Lawrence movies. He is so funny in Blue Streak as the diamond thief pretending to be a detective. The character dialogue in the film is brilliant. It still makes me laugh out loud to this day. The cast do a great job with what they are given to work with. I like the song in the film called Criminal Mind by Tyrese Gibson.

I still remember the first time I had seen Blue Streak...and I absolutely loved it. I enjoyed, both, the plot and the actors in the film. The film really works well with Martin's brand of comedy. Blue Streak gave him a chance to show off his comedic talents, without changing his physical appearance. However, what I enjoy the most is Martin's physical comedy and his sarcasm. He delivers comedic lines beautifully. If u don't like Martin Lawrences brand of comedy, then u will not appreciate how terrific the film is. There are many comedians who are considered brilliant comedians, but I may not see or interpret the comedy the same way as someone else. Comes down to taste, I guess. If ur a Martin Lawrence fan, then you will love the hell outta Blue Streak. I could watch it everyday and I'd find it hysterical.
