hyped garbage
Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Spending the summer at a Catskills resort with her family, Frances "Baby" Houseman falls in love with the camp's dance instructor, Johnny Castle. Dirty Dancing is one of the best romantic muscicals of all time that benefit from the excellent chemistry of it's 2 leads but also excellent singing and dancing that even today is still remarkable and memorable. As for the perfomances? brilliant especially from Jennifer Grey and the late and great Patrick Swayze. Dirty Dancing 2 was also pretty good although not as awesome as the original one. Definitely one of 1987's most classic and terrific films of all time. And definitely not a 6.9/10 kind of movie in my humble opinion IMDB. (A+)
This is my ultimate favourite film. Romance, Dancing and one very sexy Patrick Swayze.
Not being a masterpiece in general, it is as a romantic movie. It touches girls/women the most. And I don't know one that saw the movie and didn't fell in love with it. Character lines and music get stuck in our brains forever. I was still longing for a sequel (before PS passing...). I will love it forever. And enjoy re-watching it when it happens to be on TV. Have the DVD, obviously. If you are a romantic, you must see this movie
Dirty dancing is about a young woman called baby who ends up falling for a dancer (patrick swayze) who is a rouge dance teacher with a attitude which brings them both together in a whirlwind mismatched movie with a killer sound track grab your watermellon and your dance shoes for this one
