Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Started watching after reading a review about this movie. The review portrayed a very interesting, enjoyable movie which the movie failed to portray. The lead actors were good at the beginning of the film. With time they started to lose their ability to connect you with the story. Even with Samantha, it felt like her voice was loosing interest from the story. Duration (2 hrs) felt like too long to portray their relationship and getting to the end. It always amuses me how people fail to communicate with loved ones, but sometimes open up to somebody else so effectively. I did not understand the costume design though, why the old fashion line from decades ago?! In some scenes, it looked weird and funny, specially for men. The ending was beautiful portraying the difference between the feelings of human and AI. It showed one of the major problem humans have in their relationship/love life, the urge to have everything for themselves only.

Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix) composes beautifully hand written letters for a living. He is lost in his work and world of futuristic electronic gadgets. His wife (Rooney Mara) has filed for divorce. He buys the next best thing in computers, an operating system that thinks for itself. At this point the weird sets in as Theodore develops a strong emotional attachment for his OS Samantha (Scarlett Johansson) as does Samantha for him.The film doesn't evolve into the jealous computer comedy I had hoped for, but rather examines the lives humans have developed for their computers and how it effects our human relationships; how we actually prefer to be with our electronic devices more than each other. It reminds me of those family reunions when we all get together in the same room, and everyone is on their own computing/smart device. The film gives a whole new meaning to "computer dating." This is some what of a chick flick, in that it deals with emotions and relationships. It goes deep into attempting to understand ourselves. This movie is on the arty side. A long two hours as it is character driven. Not for everyone.Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity

I did not think that love is just spiritual things that do not require bodies, and that all I could imagine was that the heart is the first and last responsible for those feelings of love. This fantasy has no existence after seeing Her and it is symbolic and the mind may be the engine. The first of those feelings and feelings we feel. A romantic fantasy story directed and written by Spike Jones, who has always distinguished himself by presenting exotic works and genius ideas.Actress (Scarlett Johansen) to perform the sound of programmed virtual character Samantha was an excellent choice for her warm voice, which carries many meanings and beautiful sensations, to make from this voice the true meaning of love, and feel the extreme heat in every scene dealing with the character of the actor, Venekis), who also excelled in the divisions of his face and his looks and expressions to convey the summit of the suffering of Theodore, and what he feels, and how he gradually turned into a single solitary person looking for what these feelings share.Music was the most sensitive thing, especially the funerary and sad music chosen by Spike and the most famous (William Butler and Owen Pallet) to suit most of the scenes that were described as Theodore's case.

The idea for this movie is great. the actors all do a phenomenal job. Ans it is interesting to watch. I felt however that the film lost some power 3/4 of the way through...maybe 2/3. With a powerful finish this movie could be a masterpiece. Still worth the watch.
