The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Watching this movie as I type this review, I find it so funny, 4 lovely women, 4 best friends, who do a Book Club and review Fifty Shades of Grey books. I dont know if any of the actresses did read the book, or was told to browse the book, but their faces on certain parts of the book was funny. and seeing the author of fifty shades being in the book was good too. it is nice seeing 4 great actresses and 4 great actors. and some been in movies/tv shows together. i know some reviews here are low, but everyone is different. and i will re-watch this movie.

I left after the girls had finished their second book in the series of the shades of grey books. These over 60 chicks were displaying displeasure over not being sought after sexpots. And even though one was married, even she seemed to be having issues with her husband noticing her dressing up and emitting pheromones? So, it goes on, and they giggle about sex....date dudes whom they ve known or met on a plane....Don Johnson & Andy Garcia. and thats about all i saw.

Four elderly friends are poorly introduced with a verbal description and not by building character. The women are somewhat diverse, about as much as four white California women can be. They are all part of a book club. When one of the members introduces poorly written "mommy porn" as the next book, they all want to have sex. The film then becomes as interesting and exciting as old people having sex. I thought it was a waste as a relationship film considering the caliber of the stars that was in it. Terribly filmed airplane scene. Was that the 1950's where they played the background on screen behind cockpit? One F-word I recall. Sexual themes. No nudity.

Book ClubWhen hosting a book club for 60-year olds you must remember to get copies of the novel in large print. However, the ladies in this comedy are more interested in gabbing about their sex lives. At their most recent gathering, millionaire Vivian (Jane Fonda), widow Diane (Diane Keaton), divorcee Sharon (Candice Bergen) and housewife Carol (Mary Steenburgen) undertake the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey as their next reading conquest.Over the next 30-days each woman rediscovers her sexuality: Vivian reconnects with an old flame (Don Johnson), Diane meets a pilot (Andy García), Sharon online dates and Carol resuscitates her husband's (Craig T. Nelson) libido. Handcrafted for the aging baby-boomers, this star-studded study of sex over a certain age is relevant and surely relatable. However, the jokes used to convey this significance are not that humorous. Moreover, finding love as a senior nowadays is easier than finding your reading glasses.
